DLA Members
Purposes, Qualifications, Benefits and Responsibilities
Membership is developed to create fellowship, sustain the organization, build the power to act and establish the DLA presence in the broader community.
Members are primarily persons who live in or own residential property downtown. Exceptions are those who serve as the representative of an organization committed to enhancing downtown living, like the Downtown Raleigh Alliance.
Members have a voice in the DLA and receive personal notification of activities by email. They help shape downtown to benefit current and future residents, and they enjoy the satisfaction of working with people like themselves who share a common interest and passion for living downtown.
As members, they may be asked by the DLA leadership to take committee assignments as they are able. They are expected to support the integrity of the organization and to create goodwill among other members and the broader community.
There is no fee for membership, however opportunities to contribute financially to the DLA (to cover out-of-pocket expenses) are provided at events and meetings.
The General Members Meeting is held on the 4th Tuesday of each month.
